WJCMS closed the 2020–21 season with Journeying Together, a free live-streamed concert on Sunday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The West Jersey Chamber Chorale paired spirituals from the African-American and European-American traditions of the 1860s, exploring the commonalities that led both communities on a journey to heaven.

The program included arrangements by composers Moses Hogan, Alice Parker, Hall Johnson, and Jester Hairston, among others. Our talented singers, plus host Ivan Woods, contrasting the roots, characteristics, and themes shared among these musical traditions.

This free program was broadcast online.

Free concerts happen because of our audiences! Your support through donations makes it possible for others in the community to access high-quality music and helps us to meet our financial goals at year-end. Please make a contribution as you are able.
